After completing the course, students will be able to understand reporting functionality available in Microsoft Dynamics 365; understand various methods to create and modify charts in Microsoft Dynamics 365; gain familiarity with common reports available in Microsoft Dynamics 365; developing an understanding of SRS, BIDS and Fetch XML as it Pertains to Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Module 3: Visualizations
· Basic charting concepts and Microsoft Dynamics 365 chart design

Module 4: Office 365
· Explain the different export file types
· Explain the different export types, static and dynamic

Module 5: Introduction to Reporting Basics
· Explain the report development process
· Explain how SQL and FetchXML based reports are used
· Review the default reports in Microsoft Dynamics 365
· Create a report using the report wizard
· Describe the tools used to create a report outside of Microsoft Dynamics 365
· Describe the process of exporting and importing .RDL files

Module 6: Dashboards
· Explain the types of dashboard
· Review the components that can be embedded into dashboards
· Control access to dashboards using security roles or sharing

Module 7: Power BI
· Load a Dynamics 365 content pack to start using the Power BI service to display insights
· Customize a Dynamics 365 content pack
· Use Power BI desktop to modify and customise your reports and visualisations
· Embed a Power BI tile in a Dynamics 365 personal dashboard
· Use Power BI and Microsoft Office Excel together

Module 8: SSRS and SQL Based Reports
· Describe the type of background and experience needed to modify and create SQL based reports via SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)

· Understand how to create a Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) project in Visual Studios
· Demonstrate how to create a database connection and a dataset

Module 9: FetchXML Based Reports
· Examine what FetchXML is and how it is used to create FetchXML-based reports
· Understand the options available for authoring reports in Microsoft Dynamics 365
· Examine the FetchXML schema and how to use it
· Implement the use of parameters within FetchXML queries
· Implement Pre-Filtering using FetchXML
· Create queries that emulate UNION statements
· Create reports that implement multiple FetchXML datasets and parameters
· Examine and understand simple expressions and queries used within SSRS reports
