Swiss Re and Office 365 Integration & Power Platform

The Problem

Global reinsurance and insurance provider Swiss Re came to Training 4 Dynamics 365 to identify how we could help their 100+ Digital workplace consultants skill up in order to meet their strategic objectives of rolling out their 'state of the art' Office 365 Solutions, both internally within Swiss Re and externally to their customer base.
Swiss Re, a forward-thinking company whose success is driven by their ability to make the very best use of software tools and solutions, needed their 100+ agile consultant teams to quickly and effectively build their expertise within Office 365 and Microsoft Power Platform, in order to support the roll-out of their solution aligning with their Strategic alliance with Microsoft.


The Solution

After consulting with Training 4 Dynamics 365, it became clear that any training programme would need to fit the following criteria:

  • Tailored specifically to Swiss Re's own business model and customised Office 365 and Power Platform solutions
  • Rapid and agile delivery to ensure their consultant teams were ready to support their Office 365 solution from day 1.
  • Scalable to Swiss Re's global consultancy teams across multiple countries and time zones
  • In order to achieve this, T4D utilised a modular training approach that was able to provide an initial list of 30 components of the Office 365 stack, allowing Swiss Re to identify around 20 Microsoft Office components which were of core interests to Swiss Re business model. In addition to these Microsoft Office components, a particular focus was made upon the Microsoft teams application and how the Microsoft Power Platform could be used to implement and Tailor customised Solutions fitting ever-evolving customer needs using agile development approaches.

    The T4D courseware development team, together with the lead trainer, then conducted interviews with the Swiss Re experts to help us design the courses and build the component training modules.

    After the initial review of the content was signed off, the lead trainer delivered a pilot version of the course to a set of lead agile consultants at Swiss Re to obtain their feedback on the content and pace of delivery of the course.

    Feedback from the pilot course was then incorporated into the course content prior to the wider training programme.

    At the request of Swiss Re, the primary delivery method was to be face-to-face training in Switzerland, Slovakia and London UK. As a fully supportive training service, Training 4 Dynamics 365 were able to provide the necessary flexibility to enable the different teams to obtain the optimal training dates they required and the majority of training was delivered in within just 6 weeks.

    At every stage of the project the delegates were asked to complete course feedback forms which were copied to Swiss Re management to ensure that the training delivered met and exceeded Swiss Re training needs and requirements.

    Due to the Coronavirus impact across Europe, the final training sessions were delayed as flights were cancelled and 'lockdown' took effect. However, as a pioneer in distance learning, T4D were able to quickly adapt the training for delivery, using our Microsoft Teams based Virtual Instructor-led training services.

    The Result

    As a result of providing a dedicated training and courseware development team to meet the client's objectives, Training 4 Dynamics 365 were able to ensure that Swiss Re's consultant teams were provided with the technical skills and knowledge necessary to support the internal and external release of their Microsoft Office 365 solution.

    Upon completion of the project, both parties held a project review meeting to identify lessons learnt and how we could work together on further training projects to provide continued support over the coming months and years.
